I am so excited to have a men’s sweater be part of the 8-pattern Knit Picks collection called Northwoods!
It is so rare to have men’s and boy’s designs accepted so that I am currently doing a happy dance.
I think my Men’s Staghorn Waffle Sweater design is a great combination of just enough but not too much patterning for the wearer to love it and some knitterly challenges for the knitter to enjoy the project.
You will be working mainly in a simple slip stitch pattern to create a fluffy waffle fabric. At each body’s side seam a staghorn cable panel is added for some interest. This is also the same Staghorn cable pattern that runs up along the sleeve, across the shoulder and into the collar, but this time it is worked in a contrasting color (intarsia method).
Even though men’s sweaters can be somewhat larger projects, I am sure that you won’t find this knit boring and you will even learn a few new tricks along the way.
